Thank you so much for hosting my post, SLP Storytellers! I’m super excited to present my new book, Party Animals! A Wild Collection of Speech Sound Poems, which bridges speech, language and early literacy skills with a cheerful collection of sound-specific playful poems.
The book is an easy readable resource for teachers and parents. In addition to the Party Animals! poems, it explains how sounds are made and offers tips on helping the child. Many teachers intuitively understand that good speech and language development is a precursor to their teaching of literacy. My new book, Party Animals! A Wild Collection of Speech Sound Poems, bridges speech, language and early literacy skills with a cheerful collection of sound-specific playful poems. It goes without saying that when the sounds are repeated in a literacy context a child learns not only speech but also pre-literacy skills.
