One of the best books for explaining the autism/Asperger’s syndrome to other children is Anthony’s Best by Davene Fahy. There is much bullying in the schools today that could be avoided if other children were either exposed to differences in a gentle manner or taught in a gentle manner. Anthony’s Best does help teachers and caregivers explain these differences to young children. It shows that some of the differences in these children can be quite beneficial. The storybook is done from the perspective of a young girl explaining the actions of Anthony to another friend, Tommy. This makes it more relevant to children than lectures by adults.
